Frequently Asked Question

How to Spot Phishing Emails and Texts from Scammers
Last Updated 7 days ago

Tip 1: Look for Personal Greetings

Phishing messages often start with vague, impersonal greetings like “Dear User” or “Hello [email address].” This is a red flag. Any legitimate email from Axaipay will address you by the name provided by the Axaipay Merchant or the name registered with Axaipay. If it’s generic, be cautious!

Tip 2: Beware of Unexpected Attachments

Attachments in emails from unknown sources can contain malware. Unless you're 100% sure an attachment is legitimate, do not open it. Axaipay emails will never include attachments, so if you see one, it's likely not from us.

Tip 3: Double-Check Links

Always hover over links in an email to verify where they really lead before clicking. A link might look official, like https://secured.axaipay.my, but phishing emails can mask malicious URLs behind familiar text. If you’re uncertain about a link, do not ever click on it.

Tip 4: Be Wary of Requests for Sensitive Information

Legitimate businesses or Axaipay employee will never ask for personal, credit card, or account info via email, text, or phone. Axaipay will always redirect you to a secure page (https://secured.axaipay.my) to make payments, where you can safely enter your payment information.
